Recycling of paper and cardboard
One of the ways to protect resources is to recycle materials. Today, most of the solid waste in developed countries is made up of paper and cardboard. Based on the results of the physical analysis of urban waste in Iran, paper and cardboard constitute on average about 10% of this waste.
Paper recycling is a solution that imposes less cost on municipalities than burying or burning waste materials, turning it into compost, and it is based on energy savings and a cleaner environment.
Recycling is a process in which valuable materials in waste are separated and collected and used in their original form or as raw materials for the production of new products. The ever-increasing production of waste, including paper and cardboard, and its unprincipled disposal, regardless of the category of recycling, in addition to wasting national funds, causes the loss of natural resources.
Conventional paper recycling methods in Iran
This method usually has an official license and does not cause any problems with constant control and application of health regulations. This method is done in such a way that the waste paper is separated from the waste or usually from the sources of production. After grinding, it is mixed until it is well wet and after mixing, it is directed to the roller and dewatering stage. After this stage, it is time to dehydrate again, which is actually ironed under pressure and sent to the heat tunnel, which usually has a temperature of 250 degrees Celsius.
Of course, in some cases, the use of sunlight reduces the costs of thermal energy production to some extent. From now on, the dried sheets of paper that come out of the machine in the form of special sheets are sent to the cutting and preparation machine and then sent to the sales market for packaging. In these types of systems, there is usually a water return cycle and the waste in Personal containers are collected to be reused or disposed of in a reasonable manner.
